Cremona Musica 2022: the third edition of the Pianolink International Amateurs Competition is underway

The music association PianoLink, in collaboration with Yamaha Music Europe – Branch Italy and Cremona Musica International Exhibitions and Festival, is promoting the third edition of the  PianoLink International Amateurs Competition, for amateur pianists, devoted to all piano lovers, under the artistic direction of Roberto Prosseda and Andrea Vizzini.

The competition is open to all amateur pianists, of any nationality and from any origin. The candidates can register for the competition from 1 April 2022 to 31 July 2022 on the website https://www.pianolink.it/en/amateurs-competition/application/.

The competition will have different rounds. The preliminary round will be held online from 3 August 2022, while the final round will be at Cremona on 24 September 2022. The concerts of the winners will be held in Milan in 2023.

There are two categories: candidates without any academic qualifications, and candidates with some academic qualification in piano (First or second levels academic diploma, undergraduate, bachelor, master, doctorate, professional, graduate, postgraduate, specialist degree, or equivalent qualification).

The absolute winner will win a year-long workshop in piano and orchestra, worth 4000 Euros, including hotels and travels to attend it all around Europe, and a final concert with a Symphony Orchestra during the MiAmOr Music Festival 2023, in Milan.

Cremona Musica (23-25 September 2022) is the main exhibition of high-end musical instruments, and it is held every year in Cremona, birthplace of Stradivari and the international hub of music instruments. Besides the instruments crafted by the Cremonese, Italian and International masters, Cremona Musica hosts a rich and varied program of events, with concerts, exhibitions, masterclasses, competitions, and conferences, with important International artists. The exhibition is held in synergy and collaboration with the institutions of the zone: City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, Province, Associations, the Museum of Violin, Lombardy Region and ICE-Agency. Despite the pandemic, the 2021 edition was held regularly and was attended by 215 exhibitors from 23 countries (42% from abroad), with more than 130 events in three days, 300 artists and personalities involved in concerts, masterclasses, and presentations, and a delegation of 12 Buyers from selected countries, with the support of ICE-Agency.
