The calendar of events of Cremona Musica 2021 is taking shape, with more than 70 concerts, conferences, contests, and exhibitions already visible on Cremona Musica’s website. The calendar will be enriched and updated in the next weeks with further events and international artists.
One of the protagonists of Mondomusica will be Roby Latakos, the world-renowned performer of gypsy music, with technical skills and creativity that make him a one-of-a-kind artist in his genre. Lakatos will be awarded the prestigious Cremona Musica Award.
Among the other artists of this edition:
- Silvia Chiesa & Cremona Cellos, in concert.
- Marco Rogliano, who will play and present his album “Paganini and Italian Genius”.
- The Duo Bordèl, with Francesco Venga (viola) and Duilio Meucci (guitar), will present Pieces Intimes.
- The American master luthier Joseph Grubaough will give a lecture on the luthier Giovanni Battista Guadagnini
- Professor Harry Mairson, on the other hand, will hold a lecture entitled "The Stauffer cello: investigation techniques at the service of knowledge"
Piano Experience: piano
The tradition of the piano festivals goes on, with some of the most important piano brands (including Fazioli and Yamaha & Bösendorfer) that will bring to Piano Experience some of their great artists, as well as other events such as piano recitals, presentations and contests.

The two piano contests that characterized the last edition of Cremona Musica have been confirmed. This edition will host the III Disklavier Composers Contest and the II PIanolink International Amateurs Competition, devoted to amateur pianists.
Fazioli will celebrate its 40th anniversary, with Paolo Fazioli dialoguing with Sandro Cappelletto and performances by more artists associated with the brand Fazioli.
Acoustic Guitar Village: Guitars & mandolins
In the three days of the Acoustic Guitar Village there will be three of the classical events that have characterized the most recent editions of Cremona Musica: the contest New Sounds of Acoustic Music (Friday), the VIII edition of the Italian Bluegrass Meeting (Saturday), and Corde e Voci d’Autore (Sunday).
This edition of the Acoustic Guitar Village will be characterized by a special place devoted to mandolins, with the project “Mandolini in mostra”. Among the most important names, there are Carlo Aonzo, who will perform with Mauro Squillante and the soloists of the Napoli Mandolin Orchestra, and the Orchestra a plettro città di Milano. There will also be an exhibition, “In viaggio con il mandolino” and a series of conferences dedicated to one of the most iconic instruments of the Italian tradition.
During the three days, Cremona Musica will also host dozens of artists on the stages of the Acoustic Guitar Village, both in the exhibition center and the city center, thanks to the confirmation of the project Cremona Musica Downtown, with concerts at the Cortile Federico II on Saturday 25th and at the Piazzetta of Goito street on Sunday 26th September.
The lutherie masterclasses have been confirmed, with masters such as Enrico Bottelli, Lorenzo Lippi, Steve Gilchrist, and John Monteleone. Carlo Aonzo will also hold a masterclass in mandolin techniques.
Accordion Show: accordion
The Accordion Show, the newest hall in Cremona Musica, continues to grow. The hall devoted to the accordion will host much live music, with many artists and ensembles, and also many dissemination events such as conferences and exhibitions.
Among the exhibitions of this year, there are “Stradella passato e presente della fisarmonica” and the historical exhibition of the Museum of accordion of Fontevivo dedicated to Gigi Stok (an artist to whom will also be devoted a conference/concert on Saturday 25 September).
Cremona Musica will also host the conference “Castelfidardo e Cremona, i due poli d’eccellenza della musica e degli strumenti musicali in Italia”.
Accordions will be protagonists also on the live stages of Cremona Musica, with artists such as the Campi-Casabianca-Mammarella trio, the Barimar Quartet, De Angelis and Grifoni, the Duoende and many more.
Media Lounge: presentations and conferences
The 2021 edition of Cremona Musica will again host many Italian and international journalists at the International Media Lounge, making Cremona Musica the perfect place to present new books and projects. The Media Lounge will host:
- Boris Berman presenting the book “Notes from the Pianist's Bench”
- the conference “'Music dissemination and social media”
- the conference “Hybrid Music Teaching: new perspectives”
- the presentation of the project “The ideal society”, dedicated to orchestras
- “Ennio Morricone e la sua musica ideale”
- the presentation of the Dismamusica report on the market of instruments
- Maria Susana Azzi presenting the book “Astor Piazzolla, una vita per la musica”
Maria Susana Azzi, the cultural anthropologist who studied the migration from Europe to Argentina from the point of view of music and tango, will also be awarded the Cremona Musica Award.
